Though we hope you to put forth an honest effort in supporting our mission, we also hope that you spend some time exploring Guatemala. We are only hours from many volcanoes, lakes, and ancient Mayan ruins!
Unlike neighboring Antigua, our town is no major tourist destination. Here, you can expect a truly authentic Guatemalan experience. Itzapa, as it is known locally, is home to a large population of Maya kaqchikel and the people here are generally very friendly. The average high year round is about 22 C (73 F) and the dry season runs from November-March.
Itzapa has an everyday market where you can buy ripe avocados, papayas, melons, and other tropical fruit year-round for less than a dollar each. There are many comedors (eateries) where you can find healthy portions of food for about $3 USD and at night you can fill up on tostadas, atoles, and dobladas all for under $2 USD at any of the many street vendors.
Please fill out the following form to the best of your ability. We appreciate as much advance notice as possible but try to remain flexible to last minute requests.
